Revealing Beauty

I purchased a pair of sconces. At first, they did not look like much. Then I looked closer at the quality of the casting, and realized it was high. The cheap gold spray-paint obscured this. And under the gold paint, why, was that silver-plate…?

…indeed it was! Golly! And a pair of 1920s sconces which looked kinda like junk have now been revealed in all their beauty and glory.

I have noticed that several of the lights have silver plate covered with paint or lacquer. Was this done to avoid having to polish the silver plate? Does it need polished now? I love what you do!
