For many many years I had, in my vast storage vaults, a very early 1950s porch sconce by Lightolier. The other day I wondered: why keep this beauty hidden away any longer?
So…ta-da!!!!!!!! I love the basketweave glass shade.
I love the glass shade on that light. I replaced my bathroom windows with cross threaded glass very similar to that. I would have bought that light for above the bathroom mirror as it was a “porch light”. Bathroom is from a 1949 remodel so it would have fit right in. I replaced it about 30 years ago so too late. If only you had cleaned this up and listed it 30 years ago. But then, how would I have found it without the internet?
So beautiful! I really like the blocky, yet graceful feel
Where would you use that? Is it an inside light or ment to go beside a door?
It’s porch sconce, Jenine. So, yes, next to an entrance door.

Ooo, this would be perfect on my late 1940s vintage historic mining house. Would blend right in and it also has a bit of Southewestern flair.
Gorgeous. I’d love to have it, but we don’t have those kinds of porch lights. Ours are all overhead.
