Inching Along…and Old Stuff

Yesterday. I reached the cornice! Today, I ran out of new shingles but luckily the lumber yard had five more bundles! I snapped them up, put them in the minivan, and my ride home tonight was suffused with the aroma of cedar.
Today was 38-degees. I dressed warmly and things weren’t that bad. But I’m looking forward to Friday! A balmy 48-dregrees! And Sunday and Monday? A heat wave!
Kansas has highly inconsistent weather. It can be 70-dregrees in December. Basically, I can plan on working through to January save a day or two or three here and there. But January and February? Those be indoor months!
I’ve also been juggling work with getting-old-shit. Last week, I had a tooth, which had been causing pain, pulled. On Thursday, I go in for cataract surgery as my left eye, which was fine two months ago, now has a cataract. So, that is why my eyesight suddenly became blurry!
Well, think good thoughts for me in the wee wee hours of Thursday! I’m hoping to be back at work for balmy Friday!

Here’s to a successful surgery and warmer weather for all, at least those of us that are currently shivering, haha! All kidding aside, will be thinking of you and wishing a speedy recovery.
huh. 17 celsius in toronto today.
Wishing you all these best, dear Ross. Please let us know how you are. You will be in my thoughts. Hugs!
Please be careful post-surgery. Don’t be doing baby steps and fall.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, because you’re roaring along now. I’ll be thinking of you as I fly on Friday from a hot and dusty Dubai to a (hopefully) cooler Orlando for a few weeks. Colin
I have had cataract surgery on both of my eyes. It is miracle surgery. I see so much better now. Please take care of yourself. Don’t rush back to work if you need more time to heal.

Yes, Mr. Ross, don’t push it after surgery. Give yourself some time. Those eyeballs gotta last you a good long time! Wait a couple of days until that heat wave comes along. Rest! You may have to look that word up in the dictionary…lol! Seriously, though, prayers going up for a successful surgery.
Wishing you a speedy recovery Ross! And much gratitude for the beautiful advancements you have made of late, makes my heart sing. 😊 I hope you have someone to look after you when the surgery is complete!
Everyone who reads your blog wishes you nothing but good health and a speedy recovery. That being said, it might be good to give yourself a day of rest –
Ross: My thoughts & prayers for speedy recovery. You may need more than couple days of recovery. Also it takes adjusting to lens implant–affects equilibrium. Working 2 stories up might be tricky. Be very careful. Baby yourself! Be patient and pace yourself so your recovery is effective. So once recovered– good as new! Baby steps in all things regarding healing…..please tell what time surgery tomorrow so I can pray. Very Specifically….hugs Ross! Xoxo
Yes Ross to what Sandra Lee said. No need to risk falling. I took a simple fall walking the family dog and now have a badly broken arm that may need surgery. No fun!! Never mind the weather, take care of you first! Prayers!
I had three eye surgeries last year, the last of which was cataract surgery. Take it easy for a day or two after. Drink tea, pet the cats. Good vibes going out to you! (((♥️)))
I know the eye surgery will go well, wishing you a speedy recovery. Like everyone has been saying, take it easy and rest. The house can wait for a few days. Relax and follow doctors orders. You will be in my thoughts.
I see you have at least 9 “mamas” hovering over you and reminding you to take it easy. I hope surgery went well. Cold here in Illinois but I LOVE cold weather…enjoying the fireplace. So easy does it, my man! Maybe you can sit and watch some snow tomorrow from an easy chair!!
Oh crap! Thought it was Thursday today! Oh my!!! Well, I will be praying more in the morning!! Ha ha ….
Hope all went great, but I will add my voice to the chorus; let yourself heal. My uncle strained after cataract surgery, and ended up nearly blind and requiring a second, more serious procedure.
HI, Y’ALL!
Thank you for the many good wishes.
The eye surgery went well and I’m home with a sore eye. Thank goodness it was only one eye!
BIG hug to everybody!
Ross
I’m so glad all went well. Now rest and take it easy. All of your readers insist on it.
