New Kitty
In 2018, I did a post about the latest cat in my life, New Kitty.
You might enjoy re-reading that post.
Julie had found the homeless kitten, and contacted me to see if I knew of a home for the poor creature.
My reply, after a deep sigh: “Bring her to me.”
Thus, New Kitty arrived in RossLand.
She proved an immediate delight. But…as time passed she never really grew. I had experienced this once before with my Minxy. He was a tiny kitten found under a parked car. I took him in. He was terrifying sick, and proved to have feline AIDS and leukemia. But…he also had a ton of personality and intelligence. I adored him from Day 1.
Somehow, he got better although never really grew. After a good year, he got a cold and just fell apart. After ten days, he moved to Florida.
Even though Minxy and I were only together a year, I have never regretted taking him in. That was in 2006, and I still think about him. And smile.
Well, for months now I have suspected that New Kitty had leukemia.

An amazing tender picture that touches ones soul.
Sending you a hug. How wonderful she had your loving arms to surround her and guard her nap.
Aw, poor little thing.
But you made her life wonderful while she was visiting you.
I’m sure she’s found a sunny spot in Florida with Minkxy.
May New Kitty enjoy Florida!
I hope that you find solace in the good karma you gain by being so kind to kitties.
Kitties are so soothing to the soul.
So sorry.
Sending you a hug. And more hugs. So many hugs. You are a good soul, and every one of your kitties is precious. Give them a bonus pet from me when you get home.
So sorry. Hugs to you. You have such a wonderful heart. 🙂
I’m sorry to hear about New Kitty, cherish the time you had with her.
Oh, Ross, I was afraid something was wrong, since you hadn’t posted about her for awhile. I think I was afraid to ask. My sister and I are forever grateful for what you did for her, we were heartbroken at the thought of her being alone out in the country.
She had a great personality, we knew that just in the few days she hung out with us.
I hope she meets my daughter’s kitty, Bella. Cancer took her to Florida last month.
Thanks again for being her Knight in Shining Armor.
Julie
Awww. I’m so sorry for your loss. One of our kitties went to Florida this week too. I hope they’re all having fun in the sun.
Oh!!!
I am behind on your posts!
I didn’t expect that.😣
So, so sorry, Ross.
I loved hearing about new kitty.
I saw a shadow today in my dining room and almost said, “Bubba!!!” And then I remembered that he too went to Florida this past summer.
1st Christmas without him in 16 years.
