Decorating Movement

I ordered this for the library, it will ‘inset’ between the dark gold borders. By Bradbury and Bradbury. So, $$$$$, but I only needed one roll. $100.

I ordered this 6×9 rug for the sitting area. Seemed perfect. $100.

I want a pair of ‘hipster’ chairs for the sitting area, to face each other in front of the radiator. I love these save the color. Kenny is on the hunt.

Kenny did find this pair, $100. I love them and hope to purchase the pair. I prefer arm chairs but these will do as an interim pieces.

I ordered this to sit between the chairs. I like how simple it is, as it will not compete with the large Henredon table and mantel. $85.

Gosh. I have that little table in my office (the one that will go between the two chairs). I suddenly feel much more hip than I really am.

That pattern is my favorite pattern by them and I have dreamed of where I would put it in my own house. So looking forward to seeing it on your walls!

The rug and wallpaper go together beautifully. The library is rapidly coming together.

The wallpaper looks to have the Japanese royal family crest (the chrysanthemum) and some others. I don’t have my book so can’t look through it but it was a Dover book on Family crests.

The backgrounds are several Sashiko quilting patterns. I don’t have that book either but there are several on Amazon. I believe the one I have might be The Ultimate Sashiko Sourcebook by Susan Briscoe. If you know anyone that does quilting or embroidery Sashiko is quite easy and a few pillows could be made either matching or complementing the wallpaper using any thread colors and fabrics.

Another excellent book is Sashiko Stencils by Sylvia Pippen. In case you wanted to make a stencil to use in the library or some other part of the house. The background on the right side of the wallpaper is a variation of one in her book.

Oooo thanks for the added information, mlaiuppa. Gotta go read about traditional Japanese design.

Fun design choices, Ross. Made me think of the planets. Combined with the lightning bolts on the ceiling… so… much… drama! Love it! <3
