Baby Steppin’.

The curtains and tie-backs in the library were installed several years ago. The tie-backs simply hung from…oh, the horror…a long nail. I know. I know! Today, I began installing the proper holders. Note the star pattern, matching the ceiling pattern. Lisa Douglas would be so proud of me.

In the parlor, I removed the gas/electric sconces a few years ago because the electrical boxes were…oh, the horror…wider than the sconce wall mounts. After much ado, the new plastering is done, priming is done, painting done, stenciling done, and the sconces, once again, add some brilliance to the room. Bat Girl is happy. Ross, too.

Not only the star pattern on the holders but the edges of those stripes in the curtains also have a spikey sort of starburst look to them.

Love the tassels. I think curtain hold back tassels are so beautiful. Many are just unique. A lot of creativity must go in to those designs.

Wishing the best new year yet and that when you reach the end, on Dec 31, the Cross House will be your official address.

I find your progress rewarding too! Now that I no longer have an older house to restore!

I am not sure which is more beautiful —- the work or the photos! Magnificent.

Happy sigh. Every little thing, touch, minor effort — all lead to Ross moving into his beautiful home. Hopefully, that day will be this year.

It is all in the details, so they say! Baby steps are proving to be so beautiful as well as so inspiring….and… Bat girl rules!! I must add Ross, that I am often scratching my head at your initial design choices but upon seeing them come to fruition so wonderfully, become mind blown at the results! You, Sir, are a wizard!!!

What an inviting room! The details are like treasures, waiting to be discovered.
