Before. After.

I have waited over a year for this post. This is the library, February 2022. I painted it in 2015 but never decorated the room. Then Cody suggested removing the upper portions of the west shelving. I liked the idea. But I decided to remove all of the west shelving. And now?

The work began in September, 2022, and when I was in very poor health. Some days I would drive to the Cross House, manage about 20 minutes of work, and drive home, utterly exhausted. However, by proceeding with my patented Baby Step Method™, the project moved forward every week. Slowly. But surely. Here, I have found trim for the sliding door opening, and started to repair the ceiling.

Today I installed the gold “leaf” trim on the wallpaper border.

I had placed a black rug in the library. But, it looked like a black void. Today…

…I replaced it. I love how the rug complements the stained-glass. The picture rail is unfinished.

The black rug in its new location: the Long Bedroom. The chairs were formerly in the parlor, and the table was briefly in the library. The nice thing about having 528 rooms is that one can always find a place for furnishings. This will be my bedroom. The candle sconces will stay, and I purchased the chandelier for the room. The stained-glass is much more colorful in person.

You doggedly create beauty and improvement every day, no matter what obstacles, and are SUCH an inspiration. Great work…and the process is fascinating!

Oh snap – I now have carpet envy! 😁
The library is really shaping up & beautifully keeps pace with the parlor. Both are very strong & inspiring rooms. Watching the ever-changing progress of the house is a joy.
Stress relief is healthy & vital, Ross. 💜 I have no doubt that whatever you were able to accomplish, however small, helped you to push through your health issues. The return of strength will certainly fast-track the plans to get moved in. Go Ross!! 🎉

You never cease to amaze! Everything is absolutely beautiful. Even through the pictures it’s as if I can feel the house smiling. I know I certainly am! 🙂

The rug was made for that space. Beautifully done!

All of it’s splendid. It’s fascinating how the one rug is less black in the long bedroom. Logic says it should have worked in the library but I like it better where it is now. And the colorful rug in the library puts a smile on my face.

Hey Ross. I tried to get back to the Miss Asia post. I took my little dog for a chest X-ray and he has an enlarged heart. So heart meds from here on. I don’t understand why pets have short lives. But I have thought frequently about miss Asia.
