this makes me want to cry.

I feel the same, Lori. And THREE of the justices were put in place by a twice-impeached president, who is now also charged with 37 criminal counts.

They were on a list created by the Federalist Society. Trump just closed his eyes and pointed.

It was lying hypocrite Mitch McConnell that put them on the bench. Gorsucks and Any Phoney Barrister should never have been on there. Merrick Garland should have gotten a vote and Ginsburg’s seat should have remained empty until after the next president was sworn in.

McConnell can kiss his legacy goodbye. He will forever be known as the fascist that destroyed democracy in America.

Powerful and true. And unbelievable that the case got to the Supreme Court without the fact check Disgraceful and scary

Agreed, Laurie. The SS just threw their reputation into the gutter by making a decision on a fake case.

I’ve always wondered how a Colorado baker had the funds to prosecute this all the way to the Supreme Court.

Very. I read about his monologue on Twitter last night and made a point to stream it before I went to sleep.

It’s been a sad year. I don’t know what can be done, but something needs to be done to restore some semblance of legitimacy to SCOTUS.

    • mlaiuppa on July 6, 2023 at 10:46 pm

Well, God can call Thomas or Alito home and Biden can put two judges on the bench to replace them. That would certainly go far to restoring the balance. As for the trust, that isn’t coming back. I blame Mitch McConnell for that entirely. And the weakling coward John Roberts. He was so concerned about appearances and the impartiality of the court and how things would look when he was overseeing both impeachments. Well, what does it look like now? They are now the SCROTUS and the disdain is well deserved.

Clarence Thomas is 75 this year.

        Alito is 73 this year.

Scalia was 79 when he met the Grim Reaper

Just look at the countries that have slipped into fascism, authoritarianism and dictatorship.

    First you control the courts.

And now it is happening here.

I don’t blame the Federalist Society. I don’t blame Trump

I blame MITCH MCCONNELL for being a lying, hypocritical fascist. He orchestrated all of this, first by denying Merrick Garland so much as a hearing and then fast-tracking Any Phoney Barrister into Ginsburg’s seat. (Ginsburg gets some blame too for not retiring and allowing Obama to replace her but that brings us back to Moscow Mitch, the traitor of the United States and destroyer of the balance of power and democracy in our country. )

Burning in hell for all eternity is too good for McConnell. But it’s a good start. May it start soon.
