CH: Day 69

Today was all about sitting on my ass. Positioned suchly, I scrapped paint off the reachable siding, inset all the old nails, pounded in a bunch of new nails, and inset all those, too.

I did the same to the right but after fussing fussing fussing with several damaged boards I decided to remove them. Ruthless Ross.

Today was in the low 90s. But the humidity was low. With a nice breeze. And I was shaded, drinking water, and had a powerful fan facing my every minute. Plus, an audible book kept me company (Runaway Jury).

Ross perfectly happy. And dry!

This week will all be around 100-degrees. I might take most of the week off.

Take the week off. Maybe slap some linseed oil stuff on whatever is ready for it but relax and do something else.

I’m taking a bit of a break this week as we have a few 90+ days coming. Maybe. Last week’s prediction that today would be 91 turned out to be way off. Not only was most of the day in the 70s but we actually got some rain, well, to be technical wet as it was hardly rain or even a drizzle. More like cloud-spit.

With the first raised bed repaired, the dead rose bush removed and on my way to finished the second raised bed I think I’ll be taking some time off this week during the hot days as well. I might even take myself out to dinner as a reward for all those baby steps I took this month. I can really see the difference.

And you can really see the difference in the Carriage House. The historic colors painted on the small window wall. The door removed the the big window where it used to be. Siding. Trim. The beginnings of paint. You have come a LONG way in your seven league baby boots.

How are we doing on time and the violations list? Still on schedule? Will it be enough?

    Cheering you on from Jersey!
I know we are all excited to see the sweet carriage house get some love, but i hope the person whomst complained about the carriage house feels foolish. They obviously haven’t stopped by to help!
