A POLITICAL REMINDER
In 2018, on election night, it looked like a Red wave.
A lot of people were freaking out.
Slowly though, over a period of three days, it developed that a Blue wave had happened, the largest since 1974.
In 2020, on election night, it looked like a Red wave, and that Trump might have won.
A lot of people were freaking out.
Slowly though, over a period of four days, it developed that Biden had won, we would keep the House, and perhaps gain the Senate.
Today, there’s every reason to expect the election results to take days or even weeks (as the GOP is likely going to fuck things as much as possible).

Yes, I remember that both election results started out dismal and Red and ending in a glorious Blue wave. The coming days will be the same.
But Kobach? I went to sleep feeling we were doing good. And I woke to that. I feel sick.
To be honest, that Kobach news … 😞 I have seriously considered applying for citizenship in my grandparents’ country of origin. My beloved country is quite simply breaking my heart. 💔
That said, I’ll let the dust settle a bit & wait til Friday. By then, I’ll know if I can raise my wine in cheer or, simply cry into it. As it stands, morning-after results indicate I may do a bit of both. 🍷 I hope to remain somewhat optimistic the rest of the week.
This Election Day was better than my fears of what it would be. But the Rs came way too close in NY! We are a blue state! And we lost Representative Sean PatrickMaloney! Bad. This is scary in NY.
I think that young people came out to vote for reproductive rights, personal freedoms and climate. And people do seem to care about remaining a democracy. Thanks goodness!
Hopefully Dems will have a respite to make some gains and goodwill over the next 2 years.
Are you OK, Ross? Thought you would have more to say about the primaries.
Hi, Patty!
I’m patiently awaiting the final results.
Crossing my fingers!
Not being American, I think I got my terminology mixed up; it should be Mid Terms not Primary? I just find your politics so confusing, but very interesting!!!!
