For all these years I had assumed that the fixture was gold and the silver base was a later bad spray job. But it developed that most of the fixture WAS silver originally. So, I carefully recreated the original polychrome color scheme.
I didn’t think the end result would look good, and worried that I might have to redo the whole thing. Argh! I was so not looking forward to this. But, only after I hung the fixture, and stepped back, did I think: Oh! This is friggin’ gorgeous!
Silver was an unusual color choice during the era, although one company, Riddle, specialized in silvery fixtures.

I can’t believe it’s even the same fixture. I sure wish I had a period correct house to put it in!
