I found this online. And, as bad as it looked, my heart nonetheless jumped. For, I knew what this sad-looking creature was. And, what it could be…again.
My two favorite lighting companies are Lightolier and Lion Electric. The former is well known and highly regarded for its quality and extraordinary designs – and high prices! But Lion Electric actually surpassed Lightolier in each respect. Their designs were nothing less than mind-boggling and their fixtures commanded a premium price.
So, when I came across the sad-looking creature, I knew two things:
- It was by Lion.
- I had one many, many years ago. And, thus, knew what it could be.

Lion Electric did not survive the Depression. And no wonder. Just look at the work embodied in this glorious chandelier.
