Before. After.

A sad-looking 1920s Spanish-Revival ceiling fixture, badly overpainted in black and gold. Oh, the horror. So…of course…Ross had to save it. Scroll way down…

Under the horrible over-painting I discovered the original finish. Which was…oh!…also black and gold. But so very different. At a glance it just looks black. It’s not. There’s a black outer finish over a gold inner finish. This offers a richness not possible if the finish was, say, simply black spray paint. The finial has a dark red band. Again, very subtle.

Wow! What an improvement! Great job!
What a transformation, from tacky to gorgeous.
The bulbs you use for the bare-bulb fixtures are so understated and complementary to the fixture. What are they?
Magnifico!
