Before. After.
Prepare to gasp…

The two color images are by glaveandholmes.
This is the Alexander Black House, in Blacksburg, Virginia. It was threatened by demolition for a parking garage. The city though did something extraordinary: they saved the house. It was moved across the street, beautifully restored (the tower is back!!!!!!!!) and turned into a cultural center.
Ross happy.

That is so wonderful glad it could be saved!
Whoaa, what a transformation!! I’m glad this story had a happy ending, such a quality restoration, I wish there were more like this.
So awesome! Thx for sharing
That is an awesome restoration job.
San Diego did this in our Old Town. It’s called Heritage Park and there are six Victorians and the city’s first Synagogue. They were moved there to save them and are now undergoing some interior renovations (not all were open to the public.)
One of them has an exterior color scheme very similar to the Cross House.
