Before. After.

I’ve been clearing out ‘lights in storage for almost 20 years now’. This poor dear seemed too small and too far gone to be worthy of attention, hence its being ignored.

With my new mission in play…get these fucking orphans listed for sale!…I hauled out the desperate fixture and got to work on it.

First, I took it fully apart. This revealed that it was by Puritan. Oh! Then I soaked it in soapy water and scrubbed it with with a soft bristle brass brush.

I was astonished to discover that, under all the grime and likely nicotine, was the original gold burnished finish with subtle accents of jade.

Really, this truly astonished me as I had zero expectations of the original finish being intact to any degree.

And, so, informed thusly….

And, yet again, something which seemed worthless has now been given a new lease on life.

Ross happy.

The fixture is scaled for a foyer or smaller bedroom.

That is truly amazing considering the condition you started with. I love the design.

Is that the original canopy? I really love the geometry and the subtle colors of it.

Ross, the $11k arts and crafts. All of my fixtures still operate with gas. I restored the system. As such, is the main gas feed line in this fixture still there? I’ve got the clay gas tips by the dozen so that chipped one isn’t an issue. Friends down the street are looking for these with operational gas.

    Very pretty, an unexpected surprise.

That has really great style. It feels like it could be right out of Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis”
