I had this poor dear in storage for many years. I knew it would be a lot of work. In this image I have already partially dismantled the fixture.
And now? Oh , baby!
Geez. The fixture had been spray-painted gold. Under that was a black spray job. Huh? I redid much of the fixture to a new burnish gold finish and with select components of gently polished brass.

I love love love the five long/thin richly detailed cast-brass acanthus leaf applications on the arms. I also love how curvaceous the arms are.

That teeny tiny little wire cluster looks like it was…ahem, “fun”, to wire – especially with the added bulk of the cloth wire sheathing.
The leafy bits look so much better as a point of contrast in brass against the softer gold, rather than it all being painted the same color.
It almost looks like it wants to be a c.1900 beaux arts chandelier, but the chunky arms, twisted circly halo thing, and the down-turned bobeche with exposed bulbs rather than utilizing glass shades all point to the 1920’s. Weird transitional piece, but, a well done one at that.
You do such beautiful work. You bring back the beauty of past.
