Before. After. After.

About 15 years ago I purchased a 1940s Lightolier chandelier on eBay.

The seller packed stupid and the 16-inch-wide glass shade arrived shattered to bits. I was only able to recover two pieces which I hoped would inform finding a matching shade:

The years passed. And passed. And passed some more. Recently though I spotted a shade on eBay. Why, could it be? Was it possible after so many years?

It was. And something broken is now reborn:

Love that wheel cut glass. At first I thought you had repaired the shade with no cracks showing and I was going to ask you how you did it, but it’s a new shade. Or rather a new old shade.

Love wheel cut. Love pressed glass. I don’t understand why neither are made any more but I guess cost and demand. Pity that.
