Carriage House Inchin’

An actual toilet is installed in the Turret Bathroom!!!!!!!! A room which never before had a toilet!

The vanity is in place!!!!!!!!! The trim on the right window has been restored to its original finish. I have removed the sashes to restore them. All the window trim will follow the right window. All the door trim (not shown) is, it seems, later, and was always painted. I will repaint after stripping. Remember, there is a stall shower in the NE corner (unseen). Cool bathroom, right?

In 2013, when I first toured the Carriage House with the idea of buying the Cross Properties, I instantly realized what a great bathroom the Turret Room would make. So, you can imagine my excitement at seeing an old dream come true!

I’d love so much space in a bathroom! Could you beam me over?

Love. Feel like I might love even more if tub ran parallel to turret windows.

Hi, Jennifer. I earlier posted why I could not run the tub parallel. This would have put the water pipes inside the turret overhang, and thus almost assured their freezing in winter. Bad!

I love this bathroom. I can see it finished in my head. Plenty of room for the toilet and standing at the vanity sink and looking into that absolutely wonderful vintage medicine cabinet.

Even if you are a shower person, I hope you take at least one bath in that beautiful tub, gazing out the window. Best part is you can get in and out of it from either side. That tub is deep enough you can have a really nice, long, hot soak. I’ll bet there are days you would love to soak in a hot bath.

Gosh, this looks amazing! If you DO make this an Airbnb, I’ll be one of the first in line to stay there so I can enjoy that gorgeous bathtub.

Beautiful space in the making!! One question… that floor is a beauty and with your ability to restore baseboard/trim, what is your plan on the baseboard? I guess you would have stripped it behind the tub/ toilet before setting them in place, but maybe there is physical room to reach them? So I guess, two questions! I ask because my home has big radiators. There are 125 years plus of things I cannot get to!

Excellent layout and design. Even more so, given the challenges presented in the room.
