Enjoyable Dreams

My favorite blog is about, not surprisingly, old house. The blog is a feast of gorgeous old houses. And all for sale!

Old House Dreams is owned by Kelly, and she works hard at making her blog incredibly user-friendly, and rich with great posts and great comments from her users.

Daily, I look at Old House Dreams.

Occasionally, Kelly features homes from Emporia, and occasionally I have participated in these posts.

In February 2014, I went crazy over a remarkable house at 901 Market Street. You can see the post here.

In April, I went a bit crazy over 618 Union, just a bit north of the Cross House. You can see the post here.

In September, I went a bit crazy over 831 Constitution, which was designed by the same architect as the Cross House. You can see the post here. I also have my own thread on the house.

I anticipate going crazy again.

OMG! I see what you mean about 618 Union, I gasped just at seeing the photo of the arched ceiling above the phenomenal staircase.

I have admired these houses from the streets for years. I am very grateful for the virtual tours via your photo details and commentaries. If only I had all day to sit and browse with my jaw dropped to the floor.

Many times walking past or standing in front of 901 Market, I have prayed, hoped that someone will restore it with due respect. Now I better understand its challenges.

I would love to see 831 Constitution restored and turned into a museum so the public can revel in its astonishing details and artistry.

I cannot express, “THANK YOU, ROSS!” enough times or ways, because my gratitude (and surely all of Emporia’s) is clearly beyond words for all you do to restore The Cross House with integrity and passion, and also inspire Emporia to respect our historic treasures. Please call me next time you take a tour of one, I want to go too! Pictures are wonderful but it’s just not the same as standing inside breathing it all in. I came to tears more than once yesterday as I received an unforgettable gift.

    Love & Peace, G:-) Grace
