Inchin’ Along…

South Hall. 1999. Looking north.

2025. May.

Last week.

Today. Painting done! I brought the ceiling color down a bit to align where the bottom of the picture rail would have been in 1894. All the Lincrustra middle and left has not been touched yet. The missing section right of middle stands out more and more after other areas are completed. Again, I hope to have an eye-shaped table created for the space.

I will not be finishing the South Hall now. Sigh. After a bit more painting I will clean up the hall and resume work on the Carriage House. I have lost all patience with it still being unfinished. Bad Ross!

Change is good. You are moving along. You have a lot of balls in the air and switching back and forth between projects adds variety to the work and everything progresses a bit and things get done in turn.

You are doing a lot better than I. It’s August and I don’t need to tell you. I’m sure August in Kansas is plenty crispy.

i finally got my first load of dirt dumped in the last two raised beds. They have three sides and I am bringing my wheel barrow down the middle to dump dirt in alternate sides until both are filled. Only it is so very hot I can only work for an hour or two before dark. I have a wrought iron bench I am also refurbishing with paint and new wood slats. And I am taking out the climbing rose in the back corner of the fence which it turns out is just a sucker. I guess the original rose died. That alternates with other, smaller projects that need to get done. Eventually I finish something and then move on while adding something in it’s place.

Look forward to whatever the Carriage House project is going to be.

It’s looking so good, Ross. Even if you aren’t finishing it now, this is significant.

It’s looking sooooooomuch better! And I can’t wait to hear what you’re planning for the table design.

It’s so inspiring to see those beautiful details and that lovely space looking SO MUCH better! You can really see what once was here and that is what it is all about! Wonderful work Ross!

Although the South Hall remains unfinished, you have done so much to improve its condition. Bravo dahlink!!
