Inching Along
You have previously seen this image, looking east into the 1921 bathroom, which will now be a walk-in closet. The lower walls had beadboard installed by the previous owner. I removed this so I could “unlock” the room to lift it.
This is looking west. The Turret Bathroom is in the background.
I had some of the beadboard re-installed! It pleases me that I carefully saved the beadboard and reused it.

I love it when original materials can be saved and reused.
I’ve done nothing for the fence since Monday. Lack of materials and then lack of time due to other more urgent matters. And now the weather is against me for a few days.
Other stuff did get done so it’s not like nothing was accomplished.
I have a new deadline. My cousin and her family are coming to the U.S. in August and will likely make it to the West Coast for a visit. I want my house magazine layout perfect in case they want to see it. I have six months to do the yard AND the house. Made a good start this week while I was waiting for two fence boards and then waiting for a cable modem. At least whether it is outside or inside, progress is being made. More like baby crawling™ than baby steps™.
Nothing like a deadline to motivate me too! And it can happen, using the patented “Baby StepsTM” method . . . .
I love some reused beadboard. Totally in the theme of the Cross house too- so much stuff repurposed, moved, put into storage, reused. It’s my favorite part of working in and with older buildings, is finding how to preserve the relationship with the original materials.
The beadboard looks great – always nice to reuse materials when possible!
