A year ago I was given this image. This is the huge third-floor room of the Cross House, when it was used by a fraternity. What captured my special attention was the window, because it no longer had squares. And I had not heretofore known it ever had squares. Today though, after a very long absence…
…the window is squared again!!!!!!!!
This is how the high gable window looked for a very long time.
And this is how it looks today!
WHOEE!!!!!!!!
Oh, and I don’t think I have shown an image yet with both of the restored diamond-paned pantry windows shown together.
It is hard capturing the restored windows in an image but as one walks around the property they are highly evident, glittering in the light.
Me delighted.
Me, too!
Oh Ross Cross House is looking so beautiful and I am so delighted with your squares! The north side looks so beautiful and the restored pantry windows are so lovely! Exquisite!
The north side should be fully painted this year! I cannot wait!
Simply stunning!!!! You have made such progress on the north side. I suspect it might be sooner than end of the year. However whenever it occurs it will be wonderful. The stained glass is so exquisite, so beautiful. Does Justin help with all the painting, or are you solo? The workmanship is extraordinary. Justin is an amazing worker as well. Cross House is looking so very beautiful. Everything you touch is so lovely. I hope you find a partner to enjoy this masterpiece. It will be so wonderful for you both!
Oh WOW!!!! The square window is perfect! And look at those stained glass windows!! Beautiful beautiful beautiful!! You’re doing a great job!
Thank you!
Yes. Glittering. What a lovely image.
Me thinks that the North Side is soon going to outshine the front elevation. Big shoes to fill, I know, but those stained glass windows are……….well, big shoe fitting! Good job!
I think this side might be my favorite. So many gorgeous windows on a “small” part of the house. The square windows, 3 arched windows and their in-between (sorry, lost the word for them), the round tower, the telephone booth round window and stained glass above the window on the left. just wow. So much yumminess!
Me too!!!
Another two pieces of the beautiful puzzle are in place! And for those of you that have just started to appreciate the magnificent north wall….I LOVED HER FIRST! 🙂
Wow Ross! I agree with the others that the north side is going to be the most glittering!! All the features concentrated in a smaller space are dazzling! The workmanship along with restoration of stained glass and other window features like the squares on the third floor are astonishing!! Amazing progress and so-o-o beautiful! I already commented but I just had to comment again. What an amazing job you are doing!!!
Ahhh, that north face!! It’s so full of gorgeous details and one can actually SEE them now!
Received offer today with Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. My grand babies are south of Twin Cities. I will relocate from KS this summer. Ross, I am going to add to my GoFundMe account soon with the plan to equal the tier one rate of $50. I want to arrange a Cross House tour before I leave. My start date is 7/10 after Charlie (7/7 & 3) & Parker (7/9 1 yo) birthday extravaganzas. Sorry to put this off topic in blog but want to see Cross House before I move. Also if you need supplies from KC, give me the list and I will deliver:-) ????
Congratulations, Sandra! Of all the job titles I’ve had in my life, I like Pawpaw the best! ????
Thanks Mike! Ross sorry to be off topic.
Those windows are really nice – but excuse me: For me it looks like the pattern of the 3 glass stained arched windows under the porch roof is upside down compared to the old foto.
(Sorry for my English I’m from Germany)
Meike, I had to go back and look more closely, but I agree with you. Ross, is this just an optical illusion?
I hesitated to post this because it really is irrelevant, but I am still very curious about the top picture of the college students on the third floor. If you look at the top middle of the picture, to the right of the windows, there is what appears to be a small hang-man’s noose hanging from the ceiling. I’ve tried to figure out what else it might be, but there is no doubt what it looks like…strange.
