Returning to Life
I also still need to get the column straight. It leans to the right. And I’m, ahh, really unhappy with a right lean.

It never fails to amaze me what you can do, Ross.
You are absolutely remarkable Ross! Everything you do is amazing & the quality is unparalleled!!
Ha, no, it really wouldn’t be appropriate to have anything right leaning around Ross. 😉
That made me laugh too!
On the plus side, viewed from the street, it leans left….
Your efforts are inspiring, as always!
Really great!
I understand your concern about the right lean, but what really has me worried is the ginormous spider lurking on the block of wood above the capital in the last photo.
That is not a spider. Just some paint on the drop cloth.
But is does look like a spider!
Took me a second to realize the “right lean” I too would be annoyed at a right lean. It looks beautiful though Ross!
Looking good! Is the lean due to the top shifting, or bottom creeping over? It seems the top would be nailed in to the header, but I could see the bottom “walking” over ever so gradually due to expansion/contraction of the wood under the right conditions.
I dont know why but seeing these made me cry.
Beautiful.
Amazing! After painting I can hardly tell which is new & which is old. Great job.
If worse comes to worst you can always look at the column from the other side
