One line here is soooooo not like the others. Two weeks ago there were 3 million reported Covid-19 cases in America. Today? There are 4 million, an astonishing jump of 1 million in just two weeks. The US has 4% of the world’s population but 25% of its coronavirus cases, and is now the global leader in Covid cases. And things are going to get much much MUCH worse. This is entirely the result of bad leadership.

But, in small town Kansas, my locally-owned grocery store is helping to assure sanity. This makes me so very happy. This is good leadership.

And this is good leadership.

Trump keeps claiming that the massive surge of Covid-19 in America is the result of massive testing.

But, as with almost everything Trump says, this is a lie.

Oh boy, if you only knew the stupidity of people where I live! They honestly believe that masks are being forced upon people by the democrats as a way to control people. That the numbers are a hoax by them as well and they continue saying it’s not as bad as the flu. Extraordinary hard not to tell them how brain dead they are because they won’t listen to reason. People I thought were smart, educated, are allowing themselves to be lead off a cliff. It’s hard to wrap my head around it.

Being that we will not likely get rid of this virus, and must rely on achieving herd immunity or a vaccine, a more concerning statistic would be hospitalization trends and death rate trends. So many questions that come along with stats and information. How many more people are being tested than in the beginning? How many of the total are actually individuals who have been counted as new case from the multiple positives they have as a result of the multiple tests they have been required to have from employers? How are countries reporting their numbers and how often are they testing? So so many questions. In the mean time, people wear your damn masks! It’s about public safety, not civil liberties!

Clare, all your questions have answers via Google.

For example, the high for Covid deaths in America was on May 6, when a reported 2,701 died.

Yesterday, by contrast, a reported 1082 people died. So, on the surface, this appears to be good news.

However, because an astonishing 1 million people in just the last two weeks have become infected, the death rate will certainly soar during the next four weeks.

By mid-August, just three weeks from now, the total Covid deaths in America are estimated to be 160,000 – 175,000, a considerably higher figures than the current 144,000.

It is completely exasperating to see what’s happening in our country right now! To see people not listening to science, unwilling to wear a mask to protect others, listening to Trump, it’s maddening. I’m in PA and things have been decent, but our numbers are creeping up. I will be the first person at the polls to vote for Biden this fall.

Some of these “anti-mask” idiots are actually using the slogan “My body, my choice!” about masks… although they’re fine with telling the women of this country what they can and can not do with their reproductive organs. The hypocrisy is astounding.

      Agreed, Beth.

I have a feeling they do not know the origin of that phrase…

Or they do, and they still don’t see the irony.

    Hi Ross,

Yes. Your grocery store and Vice President (and I hope soon to be president) Biden are showing good leadership.

Trump has been the Denier- and Liar-in-Chief since the beginning.

In NY we now have 30 new cases and we are alarmed at that! Because we have a sane Governor who has led us through the storm with calm, clarity and leadership. I love the Gov!

Here is an NYT article about the success in the Northeast and a link to the Governor’s poster, which I proudly bought. The poster received a lot of pushback from the press, but all my design and artist friends and I love it.

If you can, read the comments. They say it all.

We have relatives in CA and Mo who see the world through completely different lenses than we do (Fox News lenses). It’s sad and crazy that they think everything is a hoax…

Thank goodness for Anthony Fauci and Ashish Jha. Follow the science. Wishing everyone strength and good health.
