Small Pleasures

.

Previously, I posted about discovering small, round, numbered brass tacks along side the window frames.

These would have been matched by tacks on each screen/storm window. So, the latter could be removed, stored, and then put back in the right place.

I love this kinda stuff.

As I finish restoring each window, I gleefully polish up the tacks and reinstall them.

Small pleasures.

Ahhh, I remember those. We had them in our old house also.

Learned about the purpose of these bracks tacks in Restoring Ross. Thank you.
The polished tack is ready for the paparazzi.

That’s so cool. We had the numbered tacks in our old house, they were just metal, not brass. Unfortunately all the storm windows were gone.

    Those are sweet little gems!
But I had to magnify the view to look at your paint job – the precision between colors is incredible!

    Ross,
They still make those, FYI, if you are missing any. Amazon and House of Antique Hardware both come to mind.
