The Liar-In-Chief

This is a political post.

If you do scroll down….caveat emptor.

Today, the Liar-In-Chief tweeted this. This is, of course, a lie.

Even the State TV network, Fox, proved the Liar-In-Chief a liar. Trump’s SOTU Address was watched by 45.6M. But…this is LOWER than Trump’s address in 2017, and LOWER than two Obama addresses (48M and 52.4M), Bush (62.1M), and Clinton (66.9M).

You might think this is just silly.

It is not.

Trump lies constantly. Trump cannot distinguish between fact and fiction.

And if all this does not scare you…there is something wrong with you.

Ross – Have you watched The Handmaid’s Tale? It is so very scary and I feel with leaders like Trump we are a hair’s breath from a totalitarian country where only the worthy believers have rights. I am disheartened and dismayed on a daily basis.

      Hi, Amy!

I have heard really good things about the show. Yes, terrifying!

Ross, what scares me is the people who either can’t tell that he’s lying, or maybe worse, don’t care. I grew up in a Southern Baptist household. Telling the truth was important. Now, I don’t recognize those people. I don’t claim affiliation with them any more and I’m reasonably sure they don’t claim me.

      Hi, Ruth Anne,

It is surreal talking with a Trump supporter.

They wholly discount any evidence that he is lying. “Fake news!”

They few times I have been able to penetrate this shield-of-denial, they shake their head and yell: “I don’t care if he’s lying!”

Our country is in trouble if reality no longer matters.

I could have written your comment myself, Ruth Anne. My dad is a retired Baptist minister, and he hasn’t spoken to my wife and I since last summer because a disagreement over Trump got heated and spilled over. The two people who raised me don’t acknowledge me in public, and it really breaks my heart. I was raised with a strict moral code and awareness of right and wrong, and now it seems that many of the Christians (professed) I know are willing to look the other way “for the greater good”. WHAT greater good?!? Is bigotry and hatred a greater good? What about callousness and a disregard for those who need help? I am a Christian, and I know exactly what the Bible says about how we are to live, and the greatest commandment is that we love one another. Without love, everything else is just useless noise. Trump is not about love, he is about lust, greed, dishonor, and so many other things I know in my heart to be wrong. That is not my opinion of him, that is the cloak that he chose to wear himself. I just pray that his presidency will be looked back on someday as a dark period, a trial of this country’s values, and that the country I love will come through a better nation in spite of Trump.

He definitely has delusions of grandeur.

I was reading the Washington AP fact check in the paper this morning about his speech and he was so off on most of everything he claimed (surprise – not!).
