I think that people who have driven past the Cross House when it was a its lowest must have been wondering when it would be hit by the wrecking ball. And if they drove by it in the past years, they must not believe their eyes the transformation that happened.

This is such a great message of hope! Your work on this house is immeasurable, and i’m sure this shining house must have had a positive effect on the surroundings.

I’d say that the last three plus years since you bought it have been the most remarkable. With you most posts could say,”What a difference a day makes”

I am sorry Ross, but I must point out your mistake. This post should be titled, “What a difference Ross MacTaggart makes.” Because no one but you could have restored this house to this level. Your attention to detail and work ethic have made a great difference to this house… but what has made the most amazing difference is how much your personality shines through. THAT is what makes us all your devoted followers, eagerly awaiting each update. Only you have the vision to pull this off! I mean, chartreuse walls for goodness sakes…. and it’s BEAUTIFUL!

I’m just amazed how many stained glass windows the Cross House has. Whats even more amazing is how they weren’t stolen over the years. Truly a treasure!

Thank you for saving the house, Ross!

Ross, the house looks great! You have moved a mountain! I would love to know how well your plan for stopping air leaks and limiting air circulation in the walls and floors has worked out and if the house is as comfortable as you had hoped.

    • Ross on December 15, 2017 at 8:34 pm

      Hi, Fritz!

Thank you for the kind words.

And, alas, I still cannot answer your question! For, I am still stopping air leaks. I expect this to continue through 2018.

I am lucky enough to drive by the Cross House almost daily and have been amazed at the changes and all due to one person (with some help I’m sure). Thank you for all your hard work and dedication.

Oh, what a TREASURE; we just don’t build majestic homes like this anymore and as often is the case, we can’t afford to maintain them and they fall into ruin! TY – TY for restoring this grand ole’ dame back to her glorious dignity and refinement.
    WELL DONE!!!

    • Ross on December 17, 2017 at 4:29 pm

Thank you, Rosie! Yes, these big beauties are not easy (nor cheap) to maintain!

It so great hearing from you!

Just a few weeks ago, Bert and I were sharing warm memories of you! I hope all is well. BIG hug!
