Small Bits

I have done several posts about refinishing the threshold of the main entrance. It was painted gray. The images I have posted always show the outer solid doors open. So, I thought you might enjoy seeing them closed. This is the BEFORE.

And AFTER! The closed doors nicely pick up the newly revealed oak threshold, which I did not notice till today. Yummy.

Shame on whomever thought painting that was a good idea.
It is amazing how just taking the paint off the threshold made the doors seemed grounded and not floating above a gray threshold. Small bits sure do count.

I really like the way you painted the trim below the threshold green rather than gray. It’s such a big improvement that I’m surprised that you didn’t point it out in this post. Your attention to these details is one of the best things about this blog.
