Paper Chiroptera?
While pondering bats (chiroptera) I thought: Does bat wallpaper exist?
Why, yes…
What I love about the above paper is that it, at a glance, looks quite traditional. Only closer examination reveals friggin’ bats flying all over the place!
I would enjoy this at the Cross House. Perhaps my bathroom?

A bit later than 1890’s, but check out Bat and Poppy (and others) at the exquisite Trustworth site: http://trustworth.com/wallpaper.shtml#this exotic pattern.
Actually, I realize many of these are 1890’s patterns (including the bats). Most from this site are later Voysey.
Bats and Venus Fly Traps among other flowers. How odd. I do like the purple.
I wish there was a squeeeee!!! button, sometimes an ordinary comment just won’t do.
So, Squeeeee! for bat wallpaper Ross.
I think it is amusing that the bats are flying amongst Dionaea Muscipula (Venus Fly Trap).
I can’t decide if I think bats are cute or creepy. I do like the idea of bat wallpaper though because there is a story behind it given the history of YOUR bat. I hope you look at the Bat and Poppy paper that Colin found. It’s more on the cute side rather than the purple which is more on the creepy side. Besides, it’s period correct which I think is super cool!
Love it!
I think it is absolutely stunning! Love everything about it and it seems to suit your very unique personality.
I know this is a reproduction, but have you considered this?
BAThroom!
In many cultures bats are good luck. And cute of course. I think the bathroom would be a great place. Or maybe a bedroom for guests who like dark rooms for sleeping. Velvet drapes, etc.
I freaking love this wallpaper!!!!!!! This is the greatest thing since sliced bread!
I squealed when I saw that paper! I hope it wound up somewhere in your house!!
