After Eight Years….
The color is historically correct.
It took a lot of effort, and several wrong turns spanning years, to arrive at the right color.
But, I feel good that I never gave up and took the easy route.
In 1894 the color would not have surprised. Today, it does, as people are so used to blue porch ceilings. This unexpected color though adds a vivacity to the house which delights me.
Ross is thrilled.

LOVE IT! YES!! Well done dear Ross – gorgeous! I wasn’t ever a a fan of the previous color, but this is perfect! <3
Lovely! And Kenny did it to Ross’ exacting standards! Bravo to you both.
Wow, looks great! What a contrast with the green.
Love how you framed the photo with the matching autumn leaves in the background, I see what you did there!
Good eye, Thad. A bonus nod to the Autumn surroundings. Another win in this labor of love.
Yes it looks great and I also agree about the beauty of the framing with the fall foliage.
The color is beautiful.
Happy for Ross!

On a grey winter day, the glow of the porch will raise spirits.
Oh, that is absolutely wonderful! Agree with Thad re: autumn colours, too. Thanks, Kenny!!

Complimentary colors are always a great combo!
OH, how I was skeptical, because I really did love the coral, but this is MAGNIFICENT!
Looks great!!
Now about the porch floor….
Just love the color. and the shot you choose just pops. Is the railing coming soon?
It’s stunning. And look how it picks up the color in those fallen autumn leaves in the background.
Very nice!
This is absolutely gorgeous!
I am willing to bet there are places where the stained glass just pops and blends with the color. Thanks to Ross and the fantastic Kenny for doing all the work!
Wow! I will be in Emporia this weekend, and I can’t wait to see the new porch ceiling in person!
Holy cow I LOVE it!!!
Omg! It’s beautiful! I love it so much! You have to be thrilled beyond words!
Exquisite! Marvelous color!
Kudos on porch ceiling painting in entirety!
It looks amazing. The long saga is sometimes how it goes. I’ve accepted the concept that occasionally I don’t get it right and search goes on. I can feel the aaaaahhhhh from here 🙂
It looks great! I miss the pink, because I thought it was a very joyful colour that looked great with the house, but I must admit the deep mauve suits the stateliness of the structure, while also being aggressively Victorian.
The colour reminds me of a smoke bush, or the underside of a Japanese maple leaf.
