A Flooring Update. A Food Upgrade.
Of course, this means that Cody will not have a kitchen for a week. Or more. To compensate, I told Cody to upgrade his food purchases.
“Rather than getting take-out hamburger, order steak! I’ll reimburse you! Order salmon dinners! Buy some wine! Make sure you have Granada chocolates for dessert! And invoice me!”
Cody…smiled.

Isn’t there a restaurant not to far away? I’ll bet they have a nice menu and offer take-out.
It is going to be fabulous.
Since the the conversion happened in 1921 are you going to go with that period for some of your choices?
I’ve gone “split personality” in my house since the house was built in 1922 but the bathroom and kitchen were remodeled in 1949. So bathroom and kitchen are late 40s and the rest is 20s as much as I can manage.
There are some really good restaurants in Emporia. There’s a finer dining (fabulous food casual atmosphere, terrific wine and locally brewed beer) at Radius within walking distance of the Cross House. There’s good diner food and good Mexican food, and good Chinese and Vietnamese food if you like Asian. Plus there’s a fabulous meat and cheese place that takes my money every time I’m in town. There’s also a couple of really good coffee shops. And that’s just the stuff I know about from my flying visits to see my Dad. Come visit! I’ll share the Cross House tour with you and we can prowl the local food scene.
That sound great but I have two dogs now and will likely have a third in a year or two. We would have to travel half way across the country, just for dinner and a tour. It likely isn’t going to happen. So I have to live vicariously through posts and photos.
The floor will be amazing!
Count me in!!!! I don’t want you to be lonely eating that good food!
I’ll be there in about 7 hours or so. Let’s get margaritas too!😉👍👍
That kitchen is already shaping up to be something spectacular. I definitely covet that sink.
Too beautiful! 🙂
Lookit that floor! Even though it is not polished yet, its beauty shows.
As for the fancy meals and treats… what better way to enjoy those than by Cody sharing it with you Ross. Yum!
Beautiful! Can’t wait to see them in their finished state.
