A Goddess

Two of my favorite people. And, today, the universe is diminished by the loss of one.

I had heard they were going to have a huge 100 birthday party for her – televised. She is remarkable and such a treasure. Will be missed. I think she’s be with the angels now. 🙂

RIP America’s Sweetheart & one of the sweetest people….we lost a treasure today:-(

She was interviewed by Al Roker & said the “secret to a long life was kindness.” Well said sweet lady.

Betty (as herself) always reminded me of my grandmother, who incidentally also passed on New Year’s Eve in 2010. I grew up watching her on gameshows, and as Sue Ann Nivens on the MTM Show; some of the funniest moments on television centered around her. I laughed a lot watching the Golden Girls, but I never thought that the Rose character really did her justice. I was thrilled for her when her career took off again when she was in her late 80s; her role as Elka was hilarious! Her love for animals was extraordinary…she was truly a national treasure. Betty was a classy lady who never took herself too seriously and made the whole world laugh with her.
