A Limpy Update
Recently, I did a post about a stray cat with injured back legs. The left leg is useless. The cat can use the right leg but it is obviously an effort.
I named the cat Limpy.
The vet said it appeared to be tendon damage rather than broken bones. I asked if anything could be done. She shook her head no.
She also agreed that Limpy was very old.
So, Limpy is now living in my fenced yard, in a roofed box, with a highly padded floor.
I haul him out twice a day so he can partake in breakfast and dinner. When it is warm outside, Limpy will relocate himself to the sun and tall grass. So, he does move.
The last few nights however the temperature plummeted. Could Limpy survive 29-degrees? And, if so, Limply surely would not be happy about this. So, obviously, something had to be done. I mean, unhappy cats in Ross Land? Unthinkable!
Thus, for the past three nights Limpy and his box were moved into my office, with a litter-box placed adjacent, and water bowl.
And, late into the night, I pulled Limpy out and placed him atop my desk, to offer company for my injured leg, propped up on the desk top. Then, we watched YouTube videos together and had some wine.

You’re a good man, Ross
So sweet. Limpy is lucky to have found you.
I hope you are on the mend Ross. Been missing your posts.
Hugs to you both, and wishes for you to both feel better.
Wow, such a cultured cat to savor wine! 😄 Thank you Ross for improving Limpy’s quality of life. You have provided the basic neccessities: food, shelter, love. How about clothing? (Just messing with you.)
You are such a sweet guy Ross! Limpy is so blessed to have you!
Love.
The universe is definitely a better place with your kind soul in it.
You are such a kind soul. Limpy is lucky to have found you.
I think Limpy thinks he has already died and gone to Heaven…oops! Florida. You are giving him a wonderful place to be now, Ross.
I’m not crying – you’re crying! Thank you for the update. Limpy knows you have a big heart. “)
Limpy is a lucky kitty, he deserves to be pampered in his old age. And you certainly are doing that. Our cat Gizmo will be 19 in May, he’s doing well for his age, except for thyroid & kidney disease which he takes medication for.
Long live LImpy.
So happy to hear this! Everyone needs a buddy to convalesce with, and it’s even better when the two of you can commiserate.
Limpy must’ve heard about your kindness through the kitty grapevine. I loved seeing this. We brought home a rescue cat this week. We named her Priscilla, as our other cat’s name is Elvis. She is adapting well, and is so happy. She fits right in with our 4 dogs, and pot belly pig. 🙂 May you and Limpy feel better soon.
