A Most Considerate Bat
I have done several posts about a bat being in my way. I even had a nightmare about the bat in my way.
HOW was I going to restore the left curved corner with a damn bat in residence?
Then a miracle happened.
The very day I needed to begin on the left curved corner…the bat had vanished. I was amazed. And enormously relieved.
Whew!
Whew!
So I worked that day, and then shoved empty plastic soda bottles in the corners to make sure that bat did not return.
Day after day I worked away, and with no bat sighting. The soda bottles eventually fell off the scaffolding and it did not seem necessary to retrieve them.
Today, I was doing final touch-ups with a paintbrush on the right curved corner when something startled me.
EEK!
I immediately withdrew the paint brush, and the bat’s bared teeth vanished.
EEK!
I stared at the bat and thought how extraordinary all this was.
The bat vanished the very day I needed it to vanish.
The bat returned when I was, essentially, done.
As I continued staring at the bat, I said: “Thank you.”

And now your little resident mosquito vacuum has a spiffy, newly painted bedroom. Maybe the bared teeth was a smile, Ross. 😀
And you made ME smile! Thanks!
I agree with Celeste! It was a SMILE! This made my day 🙂
I love this! You take care of the critters and they will take care of you. I agree that he was smiling about his new bedroom!
Maybe your garden designs need a vintage style bat house or several.
He’s cute Ross! On the plus side, there is only room for one bat.
Aw he kind of looks like he’s smiling. I think he’s cute <3
A very cute mosquito vacuum & guest! How considerate to accommodate your restoration plans & return when done!! It is uncanny!
