A Sill Before/After
So, y’all remember the horrifying condition of the window sill at the third level of the octagon tower?
Ta-da! Today, the new computer-crimped galvanized sill was installed! The bottoms of the face trim had to be removed, and these can now be glued back in place. Note how the sill tucks under the wood window frame.
This is NOT the ideal solution, which would be to remove the entire double frame and replace the sill, as was done with two windows in the SE corner. But there is no time to do this right now, so the metal sill will protect the house and buy me a few years.
A bonus feature of the new sill is that, on hot days, I can cook up some bacon and eggs on it.
