Afoot at the Carriage House

The studio apartment in the basement of the carriage house has two west-facing windows. These would have, originally, received little light as there was a porch floor above, which I removed in 2014, letting direct afternoon sun hit the windows for the first time. Here, the window to the right has been cleaned for perhaps the first time in decades.

During the last week, the apartment has been progressively demolished. Today, Scott and Justin tossed a large apartment bit into the newly rented dumpster. I love love love dumpster days.

I realized, at once, that I had missed getting a good picture of the large bit being tossed away, so I asked Scott if he and Justin could haul it back out and and toss it in again. This is Scott’s 98-degrees-outside reaction. [Note: I was joking when I made the request. Scott’s response, thus, was perfect.]

Tomorrow, Modern Air begins the process of replacing the bat-shit crazy ducting of the carriage house basement. I AM SO EXCITED! Also tomorrow, Kenny returns to the Cross House to resume refinishing trim on the second floor!!!!!!!! So, much is afoot!
