An Accidental Oopsie!

Long-term readers will recall my total hysteria in 2016 when I realized that I was NOT painting the Cross House in the original 1894 colors. The dark green trim color was correct, but the wall color was not. The correct 1894 color is shown up top. Below, is the color I was painting the walls.

But…drum roll, please…in 2022 I finished turning the SW corner. And only later realized that the can of paint I grabbed was, in fact, the original 1894 wall color, shown here on the wall to the right. And it does not look a lot different than the color I have been using (left of the dark olive vertical corner trim).
In short, my 2016 hysteria was much ado about nothing.
Silly Ross!

I wonder if it looks more different in different shades of daylight. This is under the porch, which would receive less direct sunlight. Either way, like you said in the original post, paint is a temporary, fickle thing and eventually will need to be redone. Someday, it won’t matter at all! Nobody will ever know.
Looks just as nice.
