An End…In Sight

After 379 years, surely, the final stretch of re-shingling is in sight. With amazing weather predicted, the re-shingling of the south facade might be done next week. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

Hey, Ross. Off topic, but I know you ate an expert on lighting. I picked up two mid century modern lamps. They came from a friend’s grandma’s estate and I need to figure out if they are vintage or reproduction. Would you care to take a look?

Hey Ross, congratulations on your progress!

I’m curious as to why you didn’t do the third-floor siding first?
Paint droplets on the new paint below for instance?

      Morning, Blair!

The work schedule is determined by the 2017 Heritage grant. One of the line items is re-shingling. I need to cross this line item off the list before proceeding on the PAINT line item.

I’m so happy for you! I must be wonderful to see the end of all the shingling. I can’t believe how much better the south side of the house looks now, and it’s not even painted yet.

If I won the lottery I would HIRE a team to paint the 3rd and 4th story gables and finish the 2nd story for you. Then you could move to solid ground yourself to fix the termite eaten siding underneath the servants hall window and proceed to paint the 1st floor of the south side before the really hot weather sets in. Then we all could whoop it up with you!! Even though you are doing all the tedious work of repairing the shingles, I think I am more impatient than you to see that area on the 2nd story done, done, done!!
