Baby Steppin’.

The 2014 library door closed up. The outer edge of shelves to the left has been rebuilt to accommodate the new door location.

Paint!

Ta-da! I need to do some fussing, and install base trim.

Looks lovely! your book collection is impressive.

(full disclosure… I’m a librarian): How are your books organized?

(there’s no wrong answer here… unless you say “randomly”).

You might love the fantasy book series love Lies and Hocus Pocus:: Lily Singer Adventures by Lydia Sherrer. Series about a librarian and archivist who happens to be a wizard and has a magical talking cat. It’s really fun! Disregard if not interested or appealing.

Adding to my To Be Read list. I love magical silliness.

      Hi, Chris!

My books are arranged by subject.

of the many acceptable answers, that one is my favorite. 🙂

Can I please come organize your books by height and color? Yes I’m a little OCD.

    • Ross on September 10, 2022 at 10:20 pm

      No, you cannot, Nancy!

I am sure you have a system like everything else you do😃

    • Jen on September 17, 2022 at 11:30 pm

Organizing books by size and color is only acceptable if you never plan to read/use your books. Imagine you want to find a specific book but can’t remember what color it is! You could spend all day searching for it. Much better to organize them by subject (as they already are) so when you need a book on how to identify trees by their leaves, you can look in your nature section and find it.

by size and color is my least favorite… but it is a functional system if you know your books. My litmus test is always: If you can put your hand on the book you need when you need it, then the system works. Maybe Nancy has a higher recall for color and size than subject? (remember, OCD)
        LOL
It’s your circus, put your monkeys in any order you like.
