We’ve all been told for WEEKS AND WEEKS AND WEEKS to ignore the early results as it will take time to count the unprecedented amount of early votes.

This will NOT happen tonight.

Ignore the media. Wait until each state certifies their vote.

Be clam. Be calm.

Note: In 2018, it took about three days before it was apparent that there was a Blue wave. The largest since 1974.

I’m just checking again before heading to bed and wondering how they’re counting who gets the state when there’s only 2% of the votes counted. I must confess, I’m disheartened. I voted early in my traditionally red state. At least I can cancel out one vote…

I’m not calm, I’m numb. How can it even be close?!?!?!??? It is a more than bitter disappointment to realize the moral depravity of so many “patriotic” Americans.

I feel the same. There was a lame excuse in 2016 that Trump was the unknown outsider, but now Trump has made plain who he is—and millions of Americans endorse that. Terrifying.

I’m so NOT calm I can’t sleep. I never expected it to be anywhere near this close.

      Debbie, tonight was EXPECTED.

Millions and millions of early votes were cast, in UNPRECEDENTED numbers.

Most of these votes have not been factored in yet. Most of these votes were from Democratic voters.

      We were warned about this.

And Trump will stop at nothing to prevent these votes from being counted.

But luckily I don’t think he can do a darn thing about it. Every vote deserves to be counted and I hope his days are numbered.

Yes I’m aware of everything you pointed out. I think where the disconnect comes for me is that that many people STILL voted for Trump with everything he has done and said in 4 years. It truly makes me sad for our country as a whole.

          YEP. It’s devastating.

Whew. Trying to distract myself during this time.

The closest thing I can think of to compare today to is when someone you love is in surgery, and you are in the waiting room praying for a miracle… Our country is in ICU; if Biden wins, then the surgery was successful and we are looking at what I expect to be a long, painful recovery. To what extent we recover is unknown; there is a lot of infection in the national body that must be overcome, a lot of wounds that must heal. If Biden loses… I can’t even think of what to say to that. I honestly can’t…

It’s like being awake for your own surgery!

We need to win the senate too or things won’t get done. 🙁

    • Mike on November 4, 2020 at 10:40 am

Agreed; winning the Senate would be the icing on the cake. If we don’t, it will make things rough; Joe will have trouble getting things done, but at least we won’t have to worry about the orange monster doing bad things anymore…

Thanks, Ross, I needed to read this today!

I agree with Alice, it is terrifying to know that almost half of our country voted for Trump, even after that last four years. There is too much ignorance and racism.

  8. Allison on November 4, 2020 at 1:45 pm

I am not calm. I am fucking terrified.

    • Ross on November 4, 2020 at 1:58 pm

I can fully appreciate that, Allison!

So far though it looks like Biden will win.

It’s not clear what will happen with the Senate.

      • Allison on November 4, 2020 at 2:12 pm

Thank you for that. I can’t bring myself to check the news at all. Instead, I am distracting myself by working on the historic house research projects that I volunteer to do for our local historic society. It’s a super neat project to survey and research all the old houses in Denver – https://www.discoverdenver.co/

          You are wise, Allison!

We may not know the winner for another day or so.

All the votes may not be counted for two weeks. And that might change things with regards to the smaller races.
