My online vintage lighting store.

 

A circa-1940 ceiling fixture. The gold color proved to be a combination of tobacco stain and a gold-colored varnish. I was able to remove the former by washing, which also removed most of the varnish. But under the depressing gold was…

 

…this! Wow! And even if I could recreate the gold finish (which I can’t), why would I?

 

Love this! An aluminum fountain!

 

And so, a sad light has a new beginning.
