Before. After.
My online vintage lighting store.

This is a Duplexalite. I love these fixtures, first created in the 1910s and sold for decades thereafter. Some are even in the White House! This one attracted my special attention due to its size: a whopping 22-inches wide. Geez. The largest Duplexalite I have ever offered was 18-wide. Most I find are 16-wide. So, I had to have this one. HAD to.
I purchased the fixture online, and gasped at its scale when it arrived. It is HUGE!
Also, it was obvious that the shade had been repainted several times. Poorly. So, I blithely stripped off the non-original paint expecting to find some brightly colored enameled finish as is common to Duplexalite’s.
But…oops. Under the non-original paint was bare, mottled metal. Huh?
I have sold red Duplexalite’s, green, blue, yellow, and white. So,I could take my pick of color.
