Before. After.

I purchased this online. Look at how it was missing most of its crystals, and what seemed like silver-plate was dirty and tarnished. So, I felt sorry for the poor dear. And you know what happens when Ross feels as such. HE MUST SAVE IT! Sigh. Ross is just a goon. Well, wanna see the results? Scroll way down…

GASP!

GASP!

This 1920s chandelier is one of the most unusual I have ever restored. And, let me tell ya’, the process was a bitch! I cursed. Cursed! Often! Scaring kitties in the process!

The results though are…stunning.

That truly is stunning. Did you have the glass pieces or did you have to find them? And where does one find such things?

Dan, the chandelier came with bits of its original crystals. I put on new crystals.

I found the fixture on eBay. I buy most of my lights on eBay. My best-ever purchase was four Art Deco fixtures which I paid $500 for, including shipping. They were HUGE, and proved to be by Caldwell (the finest-ever lighting company in America). I sold them for $12,000! Then purchased a car! My second-best score was an extraordinary 1950s crystal chandelier. Also huge! No one else bid on it, so I got it for $20. I re-sold it for $8,500!

Obviously, these kind of scores don’t happen often.

That fixture is stunning. I especially love the art nouveau faces. The swooping hair! So lovely.

I just looked it up but it didn’t appear on the 1920 page. Is it still available?

      Christine, the chandelier is here.

I saw this one awhile back when it hit eBay too, and I almost made a pass at it, but I had too many other irons in the fire at the time. I’m glad it ended up with you! If it was a difficult project for YOU, I can only imagine that it would have been quantum physics for ME.

Cody! I also purchased its twin, which is candle-style.

      Working on it this weekend!

Ooooooo! So simple, yet pretty. Nice restoration!! The beginning pic almost looks too far gone, all-most! But, obviously, NOT, in your hands!! Lol!!.

Wow! Gorgeous piece and quite the transformation. I would love to see how you work on one of these pieces. Maybe You will post a video, or in-progress pix someday. The change is always astonishing!

Ross, you have amazed me once again on how impressively restored this chandelier is, and on how you can see the beauty from the bleakness. Such talented eye, hands, heart.
