Pitiful, right? I found the fixture online. 1960s Hollywood Regency, it was obviously badly repainted and abused. I felt sorry for it. So, like taking in an injured cat, I wanted to see if I could help. And then (drum roll, please)…
…GADZOOKS! Who knew!
The overpainting had covered over tiny holes for crystals! I had to drill the paint out, and wholly refinish the fixture. All new sockets and wiring as well. Then, with immense pleasure, I hung many crystals on the chandelier, switched the electricity on, and…SQUEE!!!!!!!!
