Before. After.

I found this really sad 1920s pan-style chandelier online, being sold for its parts. Oh dear. This seemed a tragic end of a once lovely fixture. Obviously, I had to do something. I had to.

Now, rather than being torn apart, the chandelier is ready for another century of life.

Most of the fixture is brass. This had been very badly overpainted over the years. I removed all the paint, revealing the underlying bass which had a kinda sorta tortoiseshell patina which I really liked. I retained this, but the bottom dome was too splotchy so I polished this bright. I love the contrast. I think of this as an ‘artful’ restoration.

The ceiling canopy was missing so I searched and searched for one which had the same kinda sorta tortoiseshell patina. I think it’s a perfect match.

Just remarkable! The restoration of this 1920’s sad, beaten up chandelier into something gobs-makingly exquisite! Extraordinary!! Well done Ross!

I have the exact same chandelier! I found mine in an old barn, and it was so badly eroded that I painted it a deep teal with silver accents on the raised parts. I love what you did with this one!

Very nice restoration, you were lucky to find a bell with a similar finish on it. The decorative design on the bell even matches the decoration that holds the bulb fixtures. Great job!

do you by any chance sell the frosted bulbs? I have been looking everywhere for something similar…
