Before. After.

I purchased this very sad 1910s pan-style chandelier. It had crappy modern shades, very crappy and cheap Home Depot chain, and…oh, the horror…plastic wiring. Even worse (if you can imagine) was the sloppy gold paint. Who would paint a brass fixture gold? Of course I had to save it! Of course! After taking the fixture apart, and dropping it in paint stripper, I discovered something quite unexpected.

The fixture was silver-plated!

Each socket cup has a laurel-leaf frieze. I found matching glass shades! I love this.

On the bottom of the pan body is a stunning and intricate stamped-brass flourish. Remarkable.

What was seemingly junk is now a thing of beauty. I love the curvaceous body.

Silver plated? How unusual is that? Those shades are the perfect match.
