Before. After.
My online vintage lighting store.

I had a part of this sad-looking fixture in storage for many years. I had the body, and stem. But I was pretty sure I had the correct missing parts in storage. And…I did!
I knew what the missing parts looked like because I’ve sold the fixture many times previously. It’s by Virden, and from their Stratford Line.
And, now…drum roll, please…all back together:

That is lovely.
If I had lived in my house when it was being built, that is a light fixture I would have chosen. It even has the current colors of my dining room; a greyed sort of sage with red highlights. I also have some black and gold.
I probably would have opted for the biggest one they had, plus sconces. I am so sad there are no placed in my house where there were scones, nor can I add them as there are fire blocks in the walls so fishing wires through from above or below isn’t possible and being lathe on plaster, no way I’m opening the walls either. But I have no fireplace which would be the perfect place for sconces.
