Before. After.

I had this late 1920s chandelier by Lightolier in storage for many years. It needed sooooooo much work (it had been painted silver) that I always ignored it. Then, in 2020 it got hauled out, taken apart, and placed in a plastic bin. Where it sat for another 5 years. I finally hauled it out but had no memory of how it went together.

Luckily, I found an original catalog image as a guide.

And, presto! The fixture is cast-iron and the ‘”natural forge” finish recreated.

Just yummy.

The finial is delicious.

That is really interesting. The finial is unusual. Needs the right sort of home. We have them here locally. Spanish Revival homes from the 1920s.

Amazing it survived for a century without missing a part of something being broken.

Ross’ comment that “The finial is delicious” points out its resemblance to soft-serve ice cream!!
