…do all this friggin’ work in zillion degree heat to make it all perty. And you can’t even see this work from ground level. Sheesh. What am I gonna do with Insane Ross?

A job done properly! Look at that lustrous, smooth paint; a joy to behold. And WE all see it (of course we aren’t the person doing the painting!)
The best part apart this job properly done is that it will last much longer and will be worth it when it does not need redone in 4 years. Great work!

Was this by scraper or grinder, and if the latter, how do you take care not to gouge the wood?
Both. I used a grinder (disk sander) for most of it, and scarier for the parts the sander can’t reach.
CAUTION is the operative word!

I love the attention and care you pay to every little detail of this house! I am dying to jump ahead to see what state the house is in now in 2020, but at the same time, I stick with inching along each post just like you’ve done with all the little bits of restoration because it’s just so satisfying to see these little details up close.
