Burnishing The Curvaceous

Going from the secret bedroom in the carriage house, and to the foyer, is a curved corner. At some point, a wall was built covering over the curvaceous curve. Oh, the horror. I removed the wall in 2014. Of course. Yesterday, I thought: what is under all this mess?

The answer? Nearly perfect circa-1921 plaster. Ross happy.

Have you decided if you’re going to go 1921 for the Carriage House, since that is when it was converted from a barn to a domicile?

Just wondering, since my house is 1922 and I’m interested to see what you do if you decide on that period.

Circa 1921 plaster meets 2021 plaster. About 100 years!

One of the beautiful curved corners in my house was covered in layers of wallpaper. It looked so odd, and it was such a relief when I uncovered a plaster corner just like yours! Yeah!

Such a lovely word: curvaceous. And that’s what that curve is. Beautiful.
